Military recruitment woes

Something strange is afoot: There are two overseas wars happening, and the various branches of the military are having problems meeting their recruitment goals.

That may not seem strange at first, I mean most people wouldn't want to end up in active combat with bullets and bombs flying towards them. However, the strange part is this: there is still such a thing as a "College Republican".

Why? Why are there young, college-age, pro-war men who are not in the military?

The reasons given for the war made it out to be do or die for America's future. The Iraq war was supposed about ensuring America's security and fighting Terrorism™. Why then are the eligible pro-war students not dropping out of college to be patriotic Americans fighting for the freedom of their country?

They either don't really believe in the cause, or they are pussies. I can't think of any other options. Their country needs personnel to continue a war they say they passionately believe is essential and Right and Just and Good For America, but yet they don't sign up. They hang around a completely safe college campus going to frat parties and drinking beer.

What I suggest is that we ask them why. Send an email to your local College Republican office and/or their members. Ask them politely why they are in college instead of fighting for freedom, democracy, the security, and the very survival of America. Don't send multiple emails to each address (no mailbombs), just one per address. Ask them, if this war is about America's freedom, why they are "over here" instead of "over there"?

I'd like it if you could with any responses, but that's optional.

Young Republicans

(While you're at it, email the College Democrats and tell them to stop being such dumbasses.)
